Job Description

The Government & Public Safety Sales Representative will be responsible for
developing Gray Fox Strategic’s government business in Canada, with an initial focus
on municipal, provincial and federal organizations located in Ontario.
This is a relationship-driven sales position. The successful candidate will introduce Gray
Fox products to prospective agencies, build relationships with operational users and
procurement stakeholders, identify upcoming requirements and guide opportunities from
initial contact through evaluation, procurement and contract award.
The representative will become a knowledgeable and credible ambassador for Gray Fox
within Canada’s law enforcement, military, corrections and public-safety communities.

Key Responsibilities


Business Development
•    Identify and develop opportunities with municipal, provincial and federal government organizations.
•    Build a qualified pipeline of law enforcement, military, corrections, border-security and public-safety accounts.
•    Establish relationships with operational personnel, firearms instructors, equipment evaluators, procurement professionals and organizational decision-makers.
•    Conduct proactive outreach, introductory meetings, product presentations and follow-up activities.
•    Develop territory and account plans for priority agencies throughout Ontario.
•    Support the expansion of Gray Fox’s government business into other Canadian provinces and territories.


Product Representation
•    Develop a thorough understanding of Gray Fox products, manufacturing capabilities and product-development process.
•    Present and demonstrate Gray Fox products in a knowledgeable, professional and credible manner.
•    Help prospective customers identify products and configurations suited to their operational requirements.
•    Coordinate samples, product evaluations, field trials and user feedback.
•    Communicate customer requirements and field intelligence to Gray Fox’s leadership, product-development and production teams.
•    Represent Gray Fox at industry events, conferences, trade shows, demonstrations and customer meetings.


Government Sales and Procurement
•    Monitor agency procurement activity and identify upcoming purchasing requirements.
•    Support responses to requests for information, quotations, tenders and formal solicitations.
•    Maintain awareness of government purchasing cycles, budgets, contract vehicles and competitive activity.
•    Coordinate internally to develop accurate quotations, product information, compliance documentation and proposal materials.
•    Maintain complete and current records of customer interactions, opportunities, forecasts and next steps.
•    Provide regular pipeline reports and realistic sales forecasts to management.


Account Management
•    Serve as a consistent point of contact for assigned government customers.
•    Maintain relationships throughout extended government sales and procurement cycles.
•    Support customers during product evaluation, ordering, delivery and post-sale follow-up.
•    Identify opportunities for repeat purchases, agency-wide adoption and expansion into additional units or departments.
•    Protect Gray Fox’s reputation by providing responsive, accurate and professional customer service.


Qualifications


Required
•    Demonstrated experience in business development, account management, government relations or consultative sales.
•    Strong ability to build credibility and maintain long-term professional relationships.
•    Excellent verbal communication, presentation, negotiation and written communication skills.
•    Ability to understand technical products and communicate their operational value.
•    Self-directed, organized and comfortable managing a geographically dispersed territory.
•    Willingness and ability to travel throughout Ontario and elsewhere in Canada as required.
•    Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation.
•    Ability to maintain accurate customer, opportunity and forecasting records.
•    Legally entitled to work in Canada.
•    Ability to satisfy any customer-site screening or security requirements associated with the position.


Strong Assets
•    Experience working in or selling to law enforcement, military, corrections, border services, private security or another public-safety environment.
•    Practical knowledge of duty equipment, holsters, weapon-retention systems and operational firearms use.
•    Existing relationships within Canadian law enforcement, military or government procurement communities.
•    Experience responding to public-sector quotations, tenders, standing offers or competitive solicitations.
•    Experience conducting equipment demonstrations, evaluations or field trials.
•    A valid Canadian Possession and Acquisition Licence.
•    A valid licence with restricted privileges, where applicable.
•    Firearms-instructor, range-safety, armourer or related operational qualifications.
•    Bilingualism in English and French.

Compensation


Gray Fox Strategic offers a competitive sales compensation package designed to support the successful candidate while they establish their territory and build a qualified government sales pipeline.
The role includes a base salary of $70,000.
For the first six months of employment, the successful candidate will receive a guaranteed, non-recoverable sales incentive of $2,500 per month, in addition to base salary.
Following the initial six-month period, the position will transition to a performance-based commission structure. The final commission plan will define applicable commission rates, eligible revenue, payment timing, account ownership, treatment of returns or cancellations, and incentives for achieving or exceeding sales targets.
Gray Fox Strategic may also provide additional performance-based compensation for exceptional sales results, major account development, or revenue performance that materially exceeds established targets.
