Developed for the Benchmade SOCP platform, the Pilum is engineered for military personnel, law enforcement officers, executive protection professionals, and prepared citizens who require dependable retention and rapid accessibility without unnecessary bulk.
The updated slimline construction reduces overall footprint while maintaining the structural rigidity and retention consistency expected from a duty-grade Kydex platform. Whether worn during extended shifts, vehicle operations, training evolutions, or low-visibility assignments, the Pilum remains secure, stable, and comfortable throughout prolonged use.
Retention is provided through a durable EPDM retention band system designed to maintain secure carry while allowing a fast, repeatable draw under stress. The flexible retention design also reduces unnecessary wear on equipment while maintaining consistent performance across varying environmental conditions. Replacement EPDM retention bands are available separately to support long-term serviceability and maintenance.
The redesigned profile also improves concealment under daily clothing and reduces printing compared to traditional SOCP sheath designs.
